Darwin's theory of evolution shows that life forms adapt to new situations. This leads to following questions :
1. What is the primary cause of change in situations in the world? Even with the so called "big bang" theory we are left with the question How / what caused this "big bang"?
2. Why should life forms respond to changed situations?
3. Are there two different "forces "existing in the world constantly battling it out?
This is an explorative question .All views are welcome .

1. I am looking for a fundamental reason for change as a"concept" why does "change" happen? e.g reason for randomness in probability..
2. Why should there be a "response" at all . The q is intended to be amoralistic and aspiritual. In life forms we have births and deaths .. seems two "forces" against each other (say like Yin and yang but not complementary ) always exist. If we consider entropy it is said to however always increase. Time always progresses . Space is not clear (does expanding universe mean space for it to expand already exist?)
3.Nature generates plasmodium falciparum and also produces quinine .. two forces?

Mutation is basically random. Resulting in differences in the individuals' 'ability to respond' (cf. my first posting).
'Evolution' is judged in hindsight, thus your assumption that mutation is part of it. In my opinion, this is a misinterpretation to some extend: mutations are widening the basis. They can be positive or negative regarding given circumstances. In hindsight, you judge on the mutations that proved to be positive and forget about all the mutations that did not make it.
It is up to you to to interpret life as the conquest of two forces - I'd say this is simplifying things. But this is my personal view that does not have to be shared by others :)

P.S.: Entropy increases - to the best of our knowledge. And time is a dimension that seemingly only knows progress. Writing this I'm sure that the one has to do with the other.
