Reading is the food of minds, but some of us prefer to read paper, ie book, others prefer electronic reading, which is better in your opinion, and why? All opinions and answers are welcomed by my dear colleagues with appreciation
Electronic reading can cause severe eye-stress or no stress at all, depending upon several human and device characteristics. Human characteristics include age (very young and very old), eyesight condition, high frequency of reading, long durations of reading, and others. Devise characteristics include brightness of the screen, size of the screen, size and types of fonts, color of the font and color of the background.
For me electronic reading does not create depression but gives me a headache. Getting depressed as per the late Dr. Aaron Beck, behavioral psychologist, is something that can be prevented, for example in this case I will skip reading the depressing news items.
Some research have shown that retention of information from an electronic medium is less than the case of reading from print material;. I find that is true because that is how we memorized concepts as well as poems when we were growing up.

Staring at a bright screen for hours can lead to isolation, anxiety, and depression, i.e. both physical and mental health issues. The symptoms are manifold and can include tense muscles, back pain, headaches, poor sleep (insomnia), increased or flat breathing, quickened pulse, and generally signs of stress, depression, or anxiety.
I think the best option to go for is the hard copy format. But as young as we are, we have the perception that hard copies are expensive, tedious to read and time consuming and for that soft copies are less economical. As suggested by respected members, they have serious negative impacts on us.
Sitting in front of a computer screen for five hours a day can dramatically increase the risk of depression and insomnia, new research suggests.
Previous studies have focused on how too much screen time can cause physical afflictions, such as headaches, eye strain, and backache
The study by researchers at Chiba University in Japan, concluded that bosses should limit the time their staff spend on computers.
Lead researcher Dr Tetsuya Nakazawa said: ' This result suggests the prevention of mental disorders and sleep disorders requires the restriction of computer use to less than five hours a day.'
Long sitting in front of an electronic device can lead to low back pain probably to the hemorrhoids, eye pain or leg pain etc. These are generally the ailment of postgraduate or researchers etc.
Thank you "for all of you" for your interventions and substantive discussions, nice and wonderful discussion, to you all the respect and respect my dear and my colleagues
Effectivement cette lecture n'est pas sans conséquence sur la santé de l'esprit et sur le physique humain. En effet ça pourrait provoquer des perturbations neuronales, abdominales notamment les douleurs occulaires et lombaires
