We are looking to quantify PAH content of plant material grown in various substrates.  References vary, but some suggest extraction of fresh material, some freeze dried and some oven dried (50-70oC).  Due to other analyses to be performed, it would be most convenient to oven dry, however, I am concerned that oven drying may volatilise some of the PAHs in the tissue.  Has anyone compared the sampling and preperation methods (fresh, freeze and oven-dry) against one another?  Thank you!
