During fossil pollen preparation we use distilled water to wash samples frequently. The primary water which turns into distilled water through distillation process might contain modern pollen grains. Does distillation process remove the possible pollens from primary water or not? If not, it could contaminate fossil pollen samples with modern grains. What alternative do you suggest to prevent contamination? I would appreciate it to see your answers.
