In mosquito derived cell lines such as C6/36 Aedes cells.Densoviruses are common mosquito parvoviruses that have no effects in humans however in cells derived from mosquitos they can be artifacts. While recently carrying out an NGS of Dengue infected C6/36 cells we noticed a large population of Densoviruses, these appear to have come from the C6/36 cells rather than the Dengue isolate. I was wondering if anyone else has found this and whether it alters the behaviour of c6/36 cells to other virus infections? Thanks.
