Hi, I have some questions about curcumin's keto-enol tautomerism.

I did some experiences about the curcumin's reaction towards gaseous medium.

I followed up some papers, and the paper said, When the curcumin-dyed fabric exposed into acidic gas(like HCl fume), it turns into yellow color which is keto form of curcumin.

And when keto form of curcumin-dyed fabric exposed on alkaline gas(like NH3 fume), it turns into brown-reddish color which is enol form of curcumin.

And the important thing is, why the curcumin turns into yellow color from reddish-brown color itself?

The paper said, "the reaction is reversible via keto-enol tautomerism of curcumin. If the curcumin-dyed fabric is exposed on the acidic medium, it turns into yellow color and if the curcumin-dyed fabric is exposed on the alkaline medium, it turns into brown-reddish color.'

However, the curcumin-dyed fabric didn't exposed into any acid gas, it turns into yellow color itself. I can't find any information of curcumin's reaction towards gas. Most of papers are about the aqueous-medium reaction of curcumin.
