It's widely known that consonant voicing has an effect on the duration of the preceding vowel in English (i.e. [i:] is supposedly longer in than in ). Does anybody know of any study proving an effect (or lack thereof) of consonant voicing on the duration of the following vowel instead? (e.g. [I] in being longer or shorter than in as an effect of the voicing in d vs t?).
