I got bowel operation for partial obstruction two months ago. The operation is healed but I have sevior lower back pain. May be it is the outcome of the continous sleep I had until recovery. I made physiotherapy twice. But still it is painful when I sit for about 10 minutes and raise. It does not heart when standing or walking.
It may be helpful to read about referred pain, Dr Berhanu. I find the following in the internet. An injury to any of these structures can cause pain to radiate – or be “referred” - to any of the other structures ]]. Stay safe.
Thank you for your logical explanation. I agree with it. At the beginning I felt at the inner side of my pulvis. Then it come out to the outer hip. I went for physiotherapy twice and may be the unnecessary conditioning, my whole lowerback start itching, even difficult to sit long.
Immobilisation is a common need after being operated. Unfortunately, immobilisation does have a negative effect on the myofasial tissues of the spine.
Also the immobilisation on the operation table in a pharmacologically relaxed state, probably for a few hours, has an effect on many patients.
So, be patient and slowly slowly increase the range of motion. Try to be systematic, move your spine in all directions regularly. It will probably become better!
