I need to find out the thermodynamic efficiency of calcium looping system in Aspen Plus. I am wondering, does aspen measure thermodynamic efficiency and reported data directly or it should be calculated through enthalpy,entropy and heating flow of the process system?
no, Aspen Plus can not calculate the thermodynamic efficiency directly.
It is convenient to set up a calculator block (Fortran/Excel) in Aspen Plus that will import data from the simulation and calculate the efficiency of the system. Happy to help with this.
On another front, I looked at your publications and I like the idea of using CaL to provide heat and CO2 for greenhouses. I believe this technology has wider applications than just CO2 capture from power plants.
