I am currently growing microalgae on the bioflo/celligen 115 bioreactor. However as I ran low of funds and can't really afford their software, but really need to perform data logging, does anyone know a free or open source software to do so with the bioreactor? The manufacturer only support if I used their "biocommand" software which cost 10,000 USD. Maybe something 10 times less would be fine. Also how do I link up the bioreactor with the computer? What hardware, drivers, settings are necessary? I am not so computer competent.
I developed an open software package in Labview to control bioflo bioreactors. It incorporates data logging, data visualization, protocol execution, and easy integration of auxiliary hardware. For more information reference this paper.

David, I tried your software on the BioFlo/Celligen 115 following the recommendations of the paper you posted but it seems that the communications protocol you used to programme the software (AFS) is not supported by this bioreactor (it works with Modbus protocol)...
