Based largely on the work of Morten Rasmussen we are interested in using the PAG promoter to drive expression of our transgene in glutamatergic neurons. Has anyone else used this as a promoter? Dr. Rasmussen reports high specificity for these types of cells in postrhinal cortex, but we are looking at affecting excitatory neurons in subcortical regions. I'm looking for feedback on expression in astrocytes or GABAergic cells, as we are trying to transduce only glutamatergic neurons.
