There different terminologies that I came across in my literature review. Some of the names include IT automation (ITA), IT task automation (ITTA), Automated Information Systems (AIS). I'm trying to find a standard approach to this terminology. Automation in IT is referring to the coupling of multiple hardware and software to create an automated workflow to handle a particular or set of repeated IT activities such as data management, data analytics and task completion with little assistance from the operator. My interest is to study the effects of IT automation during disaster recovery on the operator supporting the system. What impacts does lack of continuous training may have on the operator's capability in restoring service back to normal after failure?
