I guess it could be the Crimson tansy aphid (Uroleucon tanaceti).

What is the name of the host plant?

I think Mohammed is right for the genus but considering the host plant and the shiny aspect of the larvae, it could be Uroleucon sonchi instead.

The aphid is definitely an Uroleucon species. There are about 9 Uroleucon species reported on Sonchus, however I cannot say it for sure but it might be U. sonchi because as I see in the picture the cauda is paler than siphunculi.
