We want to employ the house dust mite-induced asthma model to investigate a gene's function, but before that, we found total IgE level in naive mice serum is abnormal, more than half of them are higher than 500ng/ml.
All mice are C57BL/6 background, 6-8 weeks old, male or female, wild-type or knock-out. All mice were backcrossed, bred, and maintained at the specified pathogen-free (SPF) facility in the Animal House.
We don't know the allergen or how to remove that, that really makes me confused.
Can we induce the model successfully in high IgE level mice?
All suggestions are welcome, I really appreciate it.
