I know that the Eye Tribe was acquired by Oculus but is it still somehow possible to purchase it somewhere? It can be second-hand too if there is someone willing to sell theirs. If not, does anyone know any other affordable eye tracker brand? I would only like to use it for demonstration purposes, not for scientific research. It would be nice if I could use it with Ogama software.

I suggest eyequant. In my opiniion the leading technology for eyetracking. They developed a software that does exetracking, or simulate exetracking. Companies like Google and many others use it.
If you nwant to use it for research, ask them, they might give you free access for research, if eyequant works for you. I use it for nearly 15 years now.

Thank you for your answer and indeed this is much more useful. I guess they do web-cam tracking with AI and they are partnering with Osnabrück University which is very known in cognitive research. This never occured to me before so thanks again!

I am not sure if it helps, but there is this company called Pico which recently released a VR headset with eye-tracking sensors. It is called Pico Neo 3 Eye. The device is pretty much a Oculus Quest, so it is compatible with Unity XR interaction toolkit.

To eyequant: They do virtual eyetracking which means the developed an algorithm that delivers the same results as real eyetracking. So they analyze websites, screenshots etc. You get the results within seconds.
Really difficult is the optimisation of the eye movement in the first seconds, which is critical. Because user decide wthin seconds if the stay or leave a website. We did many optimisation projects for different companies. We have a long relationsship with exequant, but the original investors are no longer onboard. An investor bought the company some years ago. But the technoloy is very good but expensive. They can also analyse movies, but this is still in progress. This is interesting for video ads / TV commercials to see, what do people recognise. And how can you optimise that?
