Dear all,
I need to populate an if-then inference engine with if-then rules specific to the water quality domain and I am wondering where can I find such rules or if there is some expert interested in such a collaboration. For example, I am interested in rules like "when it rains, then this event usually will cause a decrease in conductivity and an increase in turbidity" or "if pH150 NTU then do X action...". Any help is highly appreciated.

That is a good idea, unfortunately we are not part of the same project. I was looking more for something which is open source and publicly available. Would it be possible that in your Institute to have knowledge of such open projects?

Thank you Leonidas, the articles are a good starting point for me. I am more interested in the water quality for human consumers, so from the point of view of pollutants which make the water of the rivers and watersheds not proper for domestic consumption.
