Just check the H+ ion permeability or through EIS solution resistance. though solution resistance solution, connection and membrane resistance will come.
You may measure the in plane resistance of the membrane quite easy.
Therefore you would need a 4-probe device (2 outer contact wires out of Pt, Au, Ag applying a AC current, and two sensing wires for the voltage drop). A typical LCR Meter at 1kHz is giving you then the resistance of the membrane. You should keep the membrane wet with destilled water.
I did EIS analysis. But I don't know how to incorporate membrane resistance during fitting of equivalent circuit. May be you can share the related papers.
