Basically from the picture the load which i have applied is not actually on the curve of the plate and is pointing another direction, i have drawn another arrow to show my intended postion of load. does anyone know how i am able to do it. i am basically trying to determine the effect curvature on the buckling analysis.

It looks like your load is applied out-of-plane, whereas your intention is have the load applied in-plane.
I don't know what software you are using, but you should be able to change the direction of application of the load in the input data. Look under the load application entry and alter the direction of application.

Youe are using Abaqus right? Concentrated force F is a vector therefore You have to represent it in a global coordinate system X Y Z = FX Fy Fz, of course provided that Your model is created in a cartesian coordinates. This is Your input. If You are using other coordinate system, eg. Spherical etc. Your force must be represented accordingly.
