Folic acid is conjugated to nanoparticles as a targeting agent to breast cancer cells. I am going to determine the conjugation efficiency and to detect conjugated folic acid in my solution.
You can check the success of immobilization by 13C CP/MAS NMR spectroscopy (it is a solid state NMR technique) or maybe also by (solid-state) ATR-FTIR spectroscopy. But it also depends on the material you use as the drug transporting material (maybe a triblock copolymer?). If the signals of the 13 atoms of the folic acid is overlaped by the 13C signals of the transporting material, then try 15N CP/MAS NMR. Good luck.
