Hi, does anyone know a good source for vertical atmospheric profiles of the main species for Venus (molar fractions of CO2, N2, SO2 vs height), from 0 to 100 km? It can be both measurements and model results.
I would use the data coming from the PFS/SPICAV/VIRTIS instruments onboard Venus Express, but the requirement "from 0 km" makes me hesitant - penetrating beyond thick cloud layer with optical methods is not possible.
Do you really need these profiles that low? May I ask you, what kind of study do you plan to make with this data? May be one can just use the cloud layer as a lower boundary for your problem?
Hi Artem. Thanks for your input. To answer your question, I am working on a model to predict sound propagation in Venus' lower and middle atmospheres, which is why tropospheric data is important. I know about the depth limitations of the Venus probes, which is why I have been looking for theoretical/computational data, without much success.
