How can one get the load demand data for importing the same in a HOMER software for renewable energy modeling?
Can we use random data or we have to monitor it for a year or else do we have to get it from any of the authorities?
Homer is a very useful tool and it is very simple to use. The "Getting Started" is a good starting point.
The demand profile can be entered manually, based on measurements. The Getting Started shows how this can be done.

Thank you for urs answers..But if i want to know about the load demand of any particular locality(for example:chennai or mumbai),how can i get it?
If i put the manual data for the same means,how can i argue that the data was correct?
Suresh better you can contact LDC (load dispatch center ) Erode. This center have all the load demand and dispatch details. When I am doing UG project in 2001 I have visited that LDC erode for the same data collection. it is located in near Erode substation. but collecting data from the center is very difficult during those days.best of luck
Whether you get it in monthly average form or in time series, you can import it to your software and it will automatically give you the annual monthly average load profile. You may find the data either from service providers from data base or in person or you may need to do load assessment.
i had done the load assessment data of a particular location manually by calculating the demand from all of its energy consuming equipments...but i felt tat the assessment wont be perfect for that site,...
Dear Suresh, in that case you need to add daily and hourly noise inputs to your assessed load to allow randomness to the load data to make it more realistic. But don't worry HOMER will take care of it.
Its ok sir...because i have calculated the load demand for a single day and then put the same for a month and also for a yearly one too...But some of my friends are suggesting that with the help of HOMER alone,we cannot extend ours work into a bigger level for getting the doctoral theses work...pls mail me at [email protected] sir!!!thanks in advance
