With the seemingly unending violence going on in the Middle East-- pa;estine, Syria, Iraq-- there is bound to be a massive dislocatioon and migration. while the major focus now seems to be on social infrastructure etc, it seems to me that we must now seriously renovating our theories of migrant curriculum development and pedagogy-- if there is indeed anything out there. There is an assumption that migrant children will simply and smoothly fit into the educational system of whatever country they relocate to. My own analysis of what goes on in the UK is that it is not so simple and failure rate, at least at the beginning can be disproportionate amongs this group. So, is there anything happening out there about an innovative framework for migrant education curriculum development or is anypne working in that area at the moment?
