I am starting a new project in DNA Barcoding, I am new employee in my laboratory. Unfortunately I discovered that Bigdye terminator reagents are expired and the process of ordering new ones is difficult and requires loooong period of time. So did any body face this problem and how did he solve it without ordering new kits.

If you are not running the sequencing "in house" then just send the PCR products to the company that does it for your institution (it cannot be much more expensive that sending the sequencing reactions).
If you have sequencing capabilities at your institution you could try out your expired BigDye with some PCR productes from samples that worked fine before. If the reagents have been stored properly in a -20C freezer (not a frost free one though!) they could still be OK.

I agree with both previous persons. Properly stored chemicals usually have prolonged period of life. I used expired BigDye successfully.
I have sequencing capabilities at my center (ABI 3130) and I must use it, . thanks soooo much .
