The Opiod Epidemic has been widely documented within the United States.... but many of us are wondering why folks have not explored how to address this in the workplace.... Looking for any folks addressing this concern in the workplace...
Not a lot out there, because it is so controversial. Most workplaces will treat this issue from a punative perspective, such as random drug testing, to determine which employees are breaking the law, and thus laying them off. Not a lot of employers out there who want to truly support employees struggling with drug misuse issues.
I couldn't find anything in my searches, but there are known, significant issues with drug (and alcohol) abuse in sheep shearing contract worker gangs, globally. The National Centre For Farmer Health in Hamilton, Victoria, Australia, might be one of the best resources to find anything on it, if it exists. I know they're aware of the situation in shearing gangs.
