I have about 15 years in connection with the biological control of pests palm of my research. Very interested in the experiences of other scientists to complete my studies. Please help me.
I have been involved in a program concerning biological control of the date spider mite Oligonychus afrasiaticus in Tunisia in 2000-2002 but unfortunately, stopped because of lack of fundings.
In Israel, I saw that they were using sniffing dogs to detect Red Palm weevil (RPW) Rhynchophorus ferrugineus and it was the quickest way to detect the presence of this notorious pest then other control methods come in. The Agricultural extension officers complained that the Dogs were on high demand and were not enough for the big job!!
In vietnam, the dangerous pest of coconut and palm in the past was Brontispa longissima and the future will be Opisina arenosella.
1, Using Asecodes hispinarum for controlling Brontispa longissima (My teacher who is Mr. Truc)
2,Using Goniozus nephantidis for controlling Opisina arenosella (It is a dangerous pest in coconut and palm in Thailan, it will penetrate into Vietnam by my thoughts, and I was prepared for anything: documents, methods, laboratories, projects to control it).
