We are looking for a good working primary antibody and protocol for syndecan-1, heparan sulfate or hyaluronan primary antibody for rats? The primary application would be immunofluorescene...
Florian, we used this antibody: mouse anti-heparan sulfate (370255; Amsbio, Abingdon, UK), see attachment. I know that Seikagaku also has a good anti-HS.
No specific recommendation, but if you need more possibilities to explore, we list a number of anti-Syndecan-1 (CD138) antibodies that a supposedly reactive with rat. Just search here http://www.linscottsdirectory.com/search/antibodies, selecting "rat" from the Reactive Species filter. Follow "More Info" to suppliers' data pages.
I recommend a free antibody database available at labome.com. For antibodies to syndecan you can check the following link: https://www.labome.com/review/gene/human/syndecan-antibody.html. For instance, Abcam has mouse monoclonal (B-A38) ab34164 which can be used for IF. Also, Invitrogen has anti-syndecan antibody (Zymed, 36-2900) suitable for IHC on rodent tissues according to the company. For antibodies to heparan sulfate and related molecules, you can check the following link: https://www.labome.com/bin/ea.pl?q=heparan+sulfate+. You can check the description of the antibodies following the provided links.
