I am looking for a image analysis software for the images captured by Versa 8 image scanner. We were suggested to use ImageScope a free software which comes with the scanner for quantification. We basically do area,count on bright field and immunoflourescence. The images are of scn format and we have to convert to JPEG to be opened by Fiji (Image J) while doing so, JPEGs are huge file size which could not be opened on Fiji. The problem with ImageScope isit carshes very often. Does anybody have experience with ImageScope software and if so how does it work?
Have you tried to implement your ImageJ with the LOCI plugin for bio-formats? That might solve the problem at the source by allowing the software to open .scn files.
Otherwise under the options of ImageJ you can increase the amount of RAM, maybe this will help with opening JPEG files.
Our new software MIPAR at http://MIPAR.us can open all BioImage formats! It has proven incredibly powerful at qualifying a wide array of images across many disciplines. However, the massive size of your image concerns me that MIPAR may be very slow on handling it, but there is only one way to find out! May I ask what exactly the pixel dimensions are?

Hi John, our pixel dimensions of 20x images are 13329 x 11373 (0.275microns per pixel). Can we do automated analysis with your software?

Thanks for your suggestion. We are using Fiji which has all the plugins for bioformats but it doesn't import the scn files.
