You need to find the ascospores and photograph them.

I am not sure what was going on in our video.  I would have expected  the cultures of ascospores placed two per plate and where the mycelium meet, compatible mating types mate and  form ascocarps and ascospores are then formed in asci.  I did not see that process in your video.  Or perhaps, I do not have the right program to see it.

Janice, thanks again for your very helpful comment. I did not culture the fungi professionally I just let them grow and had a look. I will do what you suggest and see if I can find the ascospores.
