I am running crack propagation simulations in Abaqus using Porous Metal Plasticity associataed with element extintion which only works with Explicit Dynamic solutions. I would like to calculate J-integral along, but the J-integral calculation routine in Abaqus only works in Implicit mode.

Does Abaqus correctly accounts for the dynamic effects (i.e. inertia, kinetic energy) when calculating the J-Integral for a dynamic analysis (implicit or explicit)?
The user manual does not discuss this.
Hi Francesco, a couple of years have passed since I calculated my last J-Integral, so I may be wrong, but I think that J-integral can be only used in a quasi-static analysis. That is, supposing that crack growth proceeds slowly enough that inertial effects may be neglected. So the answer would be that ABAQUS does not take account for dynamic effects when calculating the J-Integral.

do any body who has compact tension specimen python code for baques especially for composites
if you define countour you may easily xtract J integral around different contours using history output.
