Usually we always speak of burn shock, which is a hypovolemic shock, so causing immediate fluid resuscitation.
After my experience patients are usually hypertonic and tachycardic due to the pain reaction. Application of fluid in this situation could cause a shedding of the glycocalyx and initiate capillary leak. So it seems to be more useful to treat pain first and then to apply fluid in small amounts.
Maybe anybody can tell me a study wher this impression is veryfied or falsified.
Thanks in advance
