Regarding part I of your question, I am unaware of any freely available database, in the realm of medical science data is power and senior researchers become reluctant to provide that as an open access target.

As for part II of your question, there are numerous segmentation methods. You can start with checking Steve's nice blog on cell segmentation. The blog is constructed in such a way that it walks you through the different steps of cell segmentation.

Have you tried Date set from UCI Machine Learning repository?

Thank you for your reply. I have myself used the data set that you pointed to, however this time I am in search of microscopic images of the slides prepared from FNA samples so that I can segment the cells from the whole image and extract its shape features. I' ll then use these features obtained from a large set of images to train my classification network. For this I need a large number of images for both malignant and benign samples.

Thank you, for sharing the blogs for segmentation. My problem here is not segmentation of the images, rather I need access to a dataset for FNA Cytology images of Breast.
