Before start a new project I need to have a preliminary, basic view on a mixture of potatoes and sugar beet to be used as a substrate for anaerobic digestion. Does anybody has any experience or research papers on this topic? Also, I need to know which kind of Nitrogen-rich co-substrate is most suitable to adjust the C:N ratio and which type of inoculum (manure or fermented slurry). Thank you.

Thank you, Mr. Johannes Fresner, for your kind answer and attached papers. Indeed, this substrate can not ensure availability throughout the year and additional material must be considered. This is not a business project but a complex research project, where oils-extracted algae will be used as co-substrate too. One project partner will provide potatoe and sugar beet substrate (I still don't know in which status), therefore we will focus on this material. For a preliminary meeting to be held next Thursday I need to have some knowledge about characteristics of the materials they could provide, to be able to propose some mixtures function on C:N, moisture etc. I tried to find basic info but my fast screening was not quite successfully. I will read your indicated papers in detail and will find out soon which direction the project will take, it is still in contracting status. Thank you once more for your good help!
