I am conducting experiments with bacterial samples that have undergone ammonium sulphate precipitation and have found that at 50ug of protein, the proteins completely inhibit pseudovirus entry, as well as the BHI medium alone. This experiment was conducted prior to dialysis and freeze-drying. Is there any chance this complete inhibition is due to the salt interacting with the PSV itself or with the cell surface receptors on the reporter cell line, preventing binding and entry?
