I would like to conduct an animal study on rabbits. We study brain and systemic toxicity through immunostaining. Perfusion fixation is therefore needed. I found a protocol for rodents by Cage et al. Article Whole Animal Perfusion Fixation for Rodents
. Does the same exist for rabbits. Could perfusion fixation be done after euthanasia?

Personally I have only done perfusion on rodents, never done any transcardial perfusion on rabbit yet. Althogh we considered that, but we still collect bone samples of rabbit without perfusion, because they're hard tissue. While in your case, brain samples is fragile, may be much better to collect after perfusion fixation no matter which mammal it is.
There aren't many perfusion protocols for rabbit, but actually there are no basic differences between species except for the volume. and I'm sure you have found solution after 2 years, but I found an article may have this information.
