(i) Logic is theory of reasoning.

(ii) As such it consists normally of a syllogism consisting of 3 premisses; in that case it needs propositions.

(iii) But it can happen that thoughts befall you without any proposition, just like autumn leaves falling on the ground. (This happens many times to serious scientists).
