It is clear that Iraq currently faces enormous health challenges. No
other country has experienced such a worsening in health status during the last two decades.
As it has become known, there is CO2 emission from electrical generator, having adverse effects on environment and health of the citizens.
Do you think there is an effect of waste materials remnants resulting from the electrical generator on concrete, Does it have an chemical effects on concrete in any way?

I do not think that from a structural point of view, but in terms of architecture and finishes of the building and also from the environmental point of view there are risks and views undesirable

From a structural stand point, there is an effect due to the vibration generated by the power engines. By the way, I think you mean fuel or diesel generators not electrical generators because the later do not have waste.

I think when the thermal electrical power stations are erected, one is aware with the CO2 emissions, and therefore they are built far from the buildings of the cities. In addition they have high chimneys such that the waste gas will be very diluted when reaching the earth surface.
I think the waste gas from the cars in the streets of the cities is more serious than the power stations as it is distributed all over urban areas.
So, from the principle point of view you are right. These emissions may have detracting effects on the building but they may have more effect on the health of humans.
In fact in some cities the carbonation of the outer shells of the buildings makes it looks black. How far the carbonation penetrate in the concrete and affect the durability of the building is subjected to investigations and one can find papers containing results of studies on the carbonation of concrete. Although CO2 certainly has some effect on concrete, I do not consider this to be relevant - compared to the negative effects of all the other polluants stemming from the combustion process (NOx, SO2, HCs, particles etc.)
But I agree with Prof. Zekry: air pollution from traffic (and evtl. heating) might be a much larger contribution to air pollution than the generators' fraction.
I completely agree with Dr. Hassnen that the carbonation is the possible effect in this case.
