Plain and simple , realistically if I have to work in a field shouldn't I look at the papers that specialize in that field !!!

Many studies show that open access (OA) articles—articles from scholarly journals made freely available to readers without requiring subscription fees—are downloaded, and presumably read, more often than closed access/subscription-only articles. Assertions that OA articles are also cited more often generate more controversy. Confounding factors (authors may self-select only the best articles to make OA; absence of an appropriate control group of non-OA articles with which to compare citation figures; conflation of pre-publication vs. published/publisher versions of articles, etc.) make demonstrating a real citation difference difficult. This study addresses those factors and shows that an open access citation advantage as high as 19% exists, even when articles are embargoed during some or all of their prime citation years. I have just one, very practical note. If one does not have money for paying for each reference, will preferably use freely available documents in his/her scientific work when discussing own results.

NO. CAJs have long history and well reputed, whereas many of OAJs journals are predatory and easy to publish there. They only interested in money return not quality!

Quality research from standard journals gets more citations. It does not depend on whether the journal is open access or close access.

Not really. OAJs creates more visibility of your work but that does not translate to it being more cited than CAJs. CAJs may have little visibility but could possibly get more cited especially because of the quality of study conducted.

OAJs are more accessible, with the same quality, the more visible a work is, the more cited it will be. Within the same discipline.

I think to answer this question concisely, an indept formal experimental research should be carried out to establish which of the two get more cited (OAJ vs CAJ) and why.
