Minilaparoscopy is an excellent alternative. Excellent cosmesis and no collision between instruments. But it is difficult to grasp a gallbladder with cholecystitis.
The best option: Robot assisted LESS using FireFly technology.
LESS and Mini will be in the hands of very few surgeons.They will never compete with standard multi port lap.We need to wait and see about Robotics presently not able to compete with Lap but New versions may develop in future.
This might be true so fare for LESS, but I think Mini can compete and this actually based on my own experience in both LESS and MIni.
Minilaparoscopy Assisted Natural Orifice Surgery ( Culdolaparoscopy ) is an option.
