The ISO 30401, Knowledge management systems —Requirements, if there is some organizations have its compliance certificate, how can this be a value-added to those organizations.
Well simply buying the system will not be enough for knowledge management to add value... Each organization should have its unique knowledge management approach, with respect to its own needs, business and operational environment.
I would say a KMS add value to the intangible assets of your organization already. ISO-30401 can help you setting it up if your organization is a kind of beginner on this matter.
An important aspect of the ISO management standards is their integrative conception. This is particularly useful from a practical point of view, as those responsible in companies are faced with the task of integrating the various management systems (for risk management, compliance management, quality management, human resource management, safety management, knowledge management, etc.) in order to realize synergies and avoid duplication of work. In my opinion, such an integration has already been successful for compliance management system (ISO 19600) and risk management system (ISO 31000). ISO 30401 currently only has an explicit reference to quality management (ISO 9001). In this respect I expect a more comprehensive integration with the other management system standards in the future. However, the practice can/must deal with this already now. This seems possible to me because the understanding of what a management system is is now already uniform. In this respect, my answer to Mohamed Salaheldin's question is: yes, because even the first approaches to integration with other management systems are very helpful for practice.
