Being religious may be thought as essential or not essential.
I cannot right off hand think of an atheist CEO. But I do recall the story of Danny Thomas. He was born in America from Lebanese parents, of course his Christian name is not Danny Thomas. He was raised Catholic. He prayed to God about helping him in life after giving the last money he had in his pocket in a church offering. On the next day he was offered a small part that would pay 10 times the amount he had given to the church. Danny had experienced the power of prayer. He was led to form St. Jude Hospital for children because of the patron saint in the Catholic Church: St. Jude Thaddeus who is the patron saint of the hopeless. One of his doctors was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in Medicine in 1996 after he found discoveries on how the immune system works to kill virus infected cells. God Bless!!!!
Also one more thing I want to say about Danny. Danny even though he was an actor and entertainer, he was only married to one wife. He never divorced or had an affair. He stayed faithful to Rose Marie until he died in 1991.
