In my view, that's a good move if students should be involved in the production of scientific papers for further development and contribution to society.
In time Professor P. Contreras , I supervised several engineering students (undergraduate) in the end of study project. I always impose on them the duty to submit the summary of their work for a possible participation in an international conference with proceedings. In addition, I published a few articles with them as well. As you know, master's and doctoral scholarships are becoming more and more competitive, so introducing the component of a publication into the supervision of undergraduate students will be very beneficial for them.
Well, for the scientific world we are in today, it is almost absolutely impossible to find a good PhD position unless we have a few (not just one) good research papers, most preferably as a lead-author. I personally sufferred from that. So, the question of whether or not they should be involved becomes irrelevant, as long as the other criteria are unchanged.

I involve undergraduates and postgraduates in all my field research. They help collect field material using specific techniques. Naturally, a scientific article written on the basis of these materials will have a lot of value. Accordingly, the number of authors must include young researchers-students and postgraduates. For most projects, they get paid, too.
When working on research projects, students acquire good skills. This allows them to study further in graduate school. After defending their dissertation, some graduate students go to work as teachers at the Department.
Absolutely. Scientific research, and even more so the publication of the results of scientific work, are activities driven by passion. Well I am a medical student and I could not find a single Prof. who was willing to publish this truth oriented article with me ... Dear Evens Emmanuel : Keeping in mind the Learning by doing method, students (learners, trainees) should be invlolved as early as possible in the concrete application of their learning... in the perspective they would become Professor and in the perspective they would need to become experienced Professors for the progress of scientific knowledge in a world where information technologies master.
I believe students and senior authors will benefit along with the people and/or projects that are the focus of the research if the faculty and students accept the process as an invaluable learning opportunity for both the student and faculty member. If the faculty members value the questions and thoughts of the student and is open to socratic discussion, rather than wrapping themselves in the expert role, much learning can happen at all staff levels. It also means reviewing the students writing in depth to ensure they feel able to cover things in sufficient depth and not get caught up in attempting to write what they think that a professor wants to hear. It is important to consider the power dynamic and ensure that the student is encouraged and not stifled in any way. Authorship credit helps, but is only a part of the process and responsibility of the more senior investigators/authors to the student.

This is a a brilliant idea. At most Universities, publishing at masters level is not mandatory but I find this not a good practice because it makes PhD a rather challenging experience for such students. It's important MSC students at least are encouraged to learn to publish and contribute in scientific research
In my opinion yes, it would be an interesting strategy to deepen the reading of bibliographic material of the topics they develop as research, and with the guidance of a researcher or research group.
