I believe Systemic Reviews and Meta Analysis require a lot of Clinical Acumen and Expertise apart from Content Writing and Data Analysis that only Subject Specialists have.
Since Meta and Systemic Reviews are considered a high quality of evidence and can affect Clinical Practices therefore, only Subject Specialists should have the mandate for it.

A lot of the time subject specialists do not have the time to put into writing a SRMA. Medical students should help with the work. But a subject specialists input should definitely be mandatory for the reasons you have mentioned.

Yes, medical students can certainly gain valuable knowledge by writing systematic reviews and meta-analyses early in their careers. I currently think it is plausible that there are students who know how to write both systematic reviews and meta-analyses, with courses like MetaHUB currently very popular, which helps from start to finish, I think it is very acceptable.
There are many masters and PhDs who do not know the basics of reviews.
