I think that governments should follow 'user pay' policy i.e. users and consumers of plastics should pay for it at the time of buying. This price should be used to recycle the plastics.

I wonder that items are wrapped in plastics unnecessarily also. In India, products are sold in small plastic pouches with least price of Rupees 1-10. Shampoo packed in bottles can also be used, but it is packed in pouches, and unnecessarily damages environment.

People unnecessarily use cars and pollute the environment.

Therefore user should pay for it.

Plastic factories are the good place to recycle plastics. The question is does your country follow that regulation? how they collect broken plastics? are the plastics that collected are biodegradable? what do you think that plastic need 500 years to be decomposed?

The question is most crucial and I fully agree that it should be made compulsory that plastic manufacturers must recycle plastics to curb the pollution caused by use of plastics- polymer recycling is quite possible by mechanical as well as chemical recycling.In mechanical recycling the plastic is ground and is reprocessed to provide new compound and in chemical recycling chemical solvents are added to produce new polymer compounds.

Whatever method is adopted, there has to be a legislation through out the globe and I am sure the gathering rate of plastics will definitely be reduced.

Manufactures of any consumer goods or any product should bare the cost of clean up. It's not fare that consumers bare this cost. All products should be manufactured to be 100% recycled. A program should be set up for the return of any products so they can be recycled. The consumer of these products could be incentivized to return the product to a distribution station for return to the manufacture for processing. A lot of plastics are manufactured to be thrown away and not recycled...why? Depending on sources, most plastics in the US are not recycled. In most places in the US recycling is mandatory but not enforced. And in other areas recycling is voluntary. It is all too easy to through away a product instead of recycling. Also, with voluntary recycling who in their right mind will store and deposed of these products at the local recycling center when you can through them away in curb side pick-up ! This is no difference when it comes to generating energy. The amount of by-products released during this process is doing great harm to the environment, and these energy companies are not addressing the consequences of there by-products.

Yes, any industry should be made to clean up after themselves and they should bare the cost not the consumer.

The recycling process is economically and environmentally beneficial, and it is necessary to do so in the field of industrial and municipal solid waste treatment.

Recycling of plastics shall be compulsory to plastic industry. Any industry shall bare the cost of it not the consumer as polluters shall pay.
