Do you think it is true, to see a scientific study as a source of income, from the race to be published by the journals to the publication of the symposium? Yes, money is spent on scientific efforts. And, this money must correspond to income. But the inventions, the patents that are the result of these efforts should be traded. I think that organizing so many symposiums, also being in the race for publication of articles by the open journals (or others), reduces the quality of science. What do you think about this?

Yes. Scientific activities are the subject of a capitalist society itself,
i.e. the economic focus is to harvest knowledge for production.
Such an economization comes with a certain price, i.e. many scientific activities are subject to the production assembly line.
All this is necessarily not a bad thing; it depends on the ongoing balance between free thought and scientific research, i.e. to allow disputation and critique.
Otherwise, the living and learning spirit will be chased out from 'university science', in terms of a total economism.

Like it or not, scientific activities are deeply rooted in capitalism and they pave the way for making the capitalist bodies richer and richer. As such, symposiums, conferences, and journal publications are now an inherent part of the development in various areas like economics, ecology, medicine, defence , etc. The upside of the matter, however, is that these activities are truly required to stimulate scientists into action ; they are sign posts that direct professional development.

Since we consider scientific activities as intellectual properties which are protected by the law, they become the subject of capitalism. The owner, by law, may sell or lease the intellectual property in return for some kind of compensation. Alternatively, the owner may forget all the cost and share it as a charity for humanity.
