Would it be feasible to consider lime as (activated, i.e., calcined lime I suppose) active remediation agent? What if the wastewater is also alkaline and has dissolved ions with similar traits? Selection need to be based on the physical and chemical characteristics of the waste water.
I agree with Dr. Ramkumar suggest. It is based on the types of industrial wastewater and physical and chemical properties of wastewater, beside the aim of treatment.
Lime or lime products are widely used in industrial waste water treatment to adjust pH and alkalinity in coagulation, flocculation and biological treatment processes.
