"Community-based" seems to be a common term in participative and collaborative research, which I took over without further reflection. Please, my question was not intended to enter a debate about what is community, but if you want to contribute something in that direction you are welcome to do so.

To generalize Taiguara Villela´s contribution, all folk music (particularly dance) of every country is a participatory intangible inheritance. Music is primarily performance. Therefore when the community creates and participates in such music, you find the origination of an intangible inheritance. Any scholarly study on folk music would meet your bibliographical need.
