I am working on zemax for image optimization. So I would like to learn in deep about zemax. Can you please suggest any book (or) reference? Except: zemax manual and optics realm.
I highly recommend "Introduction to Lens Design: with Practical ZEMAX Examples" by Joesph M. Geary. I taught an undergraduate course on lens design with Zemax and this was the text I choose.
The only negative about the book is the order of the chapters isn't very logical (so I rearranged them when I taught with it), but all of the information you need to get started is in there.
Once you get the hang of setting up the optimizations in Geary's examples, than chapter 17 in the Zemax manual will be much easier to follow. Also feel free to ask me any specific questions about your optimization and I'll try and help.

Optical design is difficult - for me it is entirely different field... So if you can't dodge the bullet listen to Robert or anyone near to you, otherwise - let others do that. I just learned this lesson on the 1st Symposium on the mobile microscopes held 26.3.2014 in Stockholm...
