Dear Collegues,
I need to protect very air sensitive crystals for collecting the crystal structure. Do you have any idea of a material that I could use to transport the crystals from the glove box to the diffractometer which is in different building. All types of suggestion are welcomed. Thank you!!
Do you mean oxygen sensitive, moisture or nitrogen sensitive? Nitrogen being the higher ratio in air, and Nitrogen is inert! Use nitrogen blanketing (in a container) if sample is not nitrogen sensitive. You could also use good quaulity plastic sheething to cover the sample in a short vial/container! What about the liquid-sensitivity, and which one, what's the stability of the crystal there!?

The samples contain lithium so they are sensitive to oxygen and water. Samples also contain pyridine which may be reactive to other substances. The crystals are very small and difficult to handle in the glovebox that is why I thought of protecting them with some liquid oil/grease so that I can handle them with the microscope. However, it was also considered to enclose them in capillary, thanks Dominik Lukas Pastoetter

Vague or incomplete info was in your question. The elemental lithium as such only is that much air-sensitive except being hygroscopic in some instances! The oxygen reactivity could have been dealt with as in the preparation process! The oxygen reactivity in (poorly) sealed capillary or the smallest container will have the same effects nonetheless some blanketing is used. The dry nitrogen gas blanketing is also one option for transfer from one building to another at walkable distance if you walk!!!!
