Maybe you can get this course from coursera. They recommend to have some programming experience in any language. You can get a certificate if you pay for it, other way you can do it for free.

How about QGIS? Might be an alternative for ARCGIS.

R (like QGIS) is easy to learn and has a great open source GUI (R Studio).

I think certifications via online courses are overrated and not always worth the money - just my personal opinion :-)

Thanks so much. I do respect your openion about the certificate, but I'm asking about it because some jobs asked experience in R I just worried about that.
