I have been looking for articles about motivation and neurobiology and I have only found one from 1954. Notwithstanding, I prefer something from more or less 10 years ago. (The one I found is 'The Physiology of Motivation' which I am adding as a link).
Regarding intelligence, the amount of articles is incredible but most of them were about types of intelligence instead of neurobiology of intelligence. It would be great, too, to find some neurobiology with some philosophical theories on intelligence.

You can read the article The neuroscience of human intelligence differences by Ian Deary (2010); The neurobiology of punishment by Ben Seymour, Tania Singer and Ray Dolan (2007; in this article those authors talk about motivtion through punishment); Neurobiology of intelligence: science and ethics by Gray and Thompson (2004). You can find wo of this articles in goolge scholar and the last one you can find it in ebsco host data bases
